The training sessions handled were really fruitful and the trainers could complete all the modules in a systematic manner. The systems study also went on well along with training for phase 2.
SIET located at Tumkur in Karnataka is an ISO Certified engineering college established in 2002 under the auspices of Sri Shridevi Charitable Trust by the founder trustee Dr. M.R. Hulinaykar. It is one of the best engineering colleges in Karnataka and is affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University and recognized by Government of Karnataka under the approval from All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi. The Institute offers seven Undergraduate courses and three Post Graduate courses with an annual intake of 654 students.
Before implementing Orell Honeycomb suite, SIET was following manual administrative process. Earlier, Tally was used for the accounts processing and a prototype software was used for library management at SIET. With the Honeycomb suite implementation, the whole admission process was fully automated. Other administrative process including fee management, payroll, and inventory and timetable creation has also been automated.
SIET has signed up for the implementation of the 24 modules of Honeycomb ERP suite across the 16 campuses under its management. The whole implementation processes were divided into three phases. In the initial phase, the Orell Technical Team performed an online installation of the Honeycomb suite and the Orell Technical Support Team visited the SIET campus and provided the system training in a successful manner. A process study was conducted and the customization requirements were collected from the client. Customization work for second phase is advancing as per schedule and business proposal for the remaining campuses under the same management has been approved.
